Synopsis

Johnny Corncob is a 1973 Hungarian animated adventure film directed by Marcell Jankovics. It tells the story of a young man who goes on an adventure as a soldier, while longing to be reunited with the woman he loves. The film is based on the 1845 epic poem János vitéz by Sándor Petőfi.
Marcell Jankovics was a Hungarian graphic artist, film director, animator and author, whose works have been awarded the Palme d'Or for the short subject, multiple awards at the Kecskemét Animation Film Festival, and the 2009 Leonardo da Vinci World Award of Arts. His best known works are The White Mare, Sisyphus, and The Struggle.
