Watching movies being mad is not my idea of fun. But then neither is North Korea. This is the second documentary I've seen on that country. The first, about a decade ago, was straghtforward propaganda. Its makers knew it. So did viewers. Under the sun is a different breed of cat. Granted I saw only Pyongyand at its best, but that best looked pretty good to me: no litter, hardly any traffic, blessed quiet, fairly well dressed and orderly people. And appealing children. What disturbed me was the regimentation, and the constant indoctrination. Of course, we in the West are indoctrinated too, but we can choose whose line we'll believe. Even if Zin-mi becomes rebellious and disillusioned when she matures, she won't know where to turn. One other thing, I pray that those appealing children won't be vaporized in a nuclear war.
