Synopsis

The director of No End in Sight has made the documentary on the 2007-2008 economic collapse, which was caused by--in short--the deregulation of financial markets, bad loans, and even worse means of bundling and insuring said loans. Experts that predicted the collapse are interviewed, alongside scholars and businessmen who still defend Wall Street and laissez-faire government. "This movie has the rare gifts of lucid passion and informed rage" (The New Yorker). Winner of a Best Documentary Feature Academy Award.

Charles Ferguson---USA---2010---120 mins.

:Depressing documentary. Over a decade has passed, and nothing much has changed. You can't say that we didn't learn anything. No matter how bad things get the fat cats stay on top.

INSIDE JOB is clear documentation of a system failure. the breakdown occurred in September, 2008 and the movie shows in clear detailed sequence and understandable terms how this happened. the cause-and-effect chain of events leading up to the failure is narrated in painful clarity. The people involved as caretakers of the public trust are introduced, their action and inaction and the consequences of negligence or erroneous procedural activities and lack of ethical behavior are described for all to see and conclude for themselves. there was it seems a juggernaut quality in the events as they unfolded and showed how the failure could not have happened otherwise.
