Synopsis

Tom Hardy is amazing in this cerebral, disturbing prison film from the director of the Pusher trilogy. Bronson embellishes the real-life tale of Michael Peterson (Hardy), a bald, mustachioed bruiser who went to jail in 1974 for robbery, only to stay there for over three decades thanks to his now legendary penchant for beating guards and inmates, taking hostages, and inciting riots. With the majority of his time spent in solitary confinement, his mind--and his narration--runs wild with delusions of being an anti-establishment prankster named Charles Bronson. Winner for Best Actor at the British Independent Film Awards.

Nicolas Winding Refn---Great Britain---2008---92 mins.
