Interesting boy meets girl Czech style turn; one I've wanted to catch for years. Great opening with the Beatle wannabe doing a "yeah, yeah" number (brings to mind Frankie Avalon's Fab 4 spoofing Mr. Potato Bug character in the Beach Psrty flicks, done as a hasty substitute when they couldn't get the real ones). Deservedly was an international hit.

A very touching film. I watched it twice as it took me awhile to understand the setting: the female world of the factory and the dormitory is crucial to understanding the romantic attachments and disappointments of the main character.
