Synopsis

Photographer and filmmaker Robert Frank (Pull My Daisy) was invited by The Rolling Stones to capture the band on-stage and off during a 1972 concert tour. The resulting grainy footage not only captured some fantastic performances, such as their renditions of "Midnight Rambler" and a medley of "Uptight" and "Satisfaction" (accompanied by Stevie Wonder), but also found the band lensed during some outlandish antics they later believed unfit for audiences (shooting up drugs and on-screen orgies). Still, Frank's view of the craziness is casual and honest, veering away from some of the pretensions assumed by other directors filming the bad boys of rock and roll. Look quickly for cameos by Truman Capote, Dick Cavett, Terry Southern, Andy Warhol.
