Synopsis

The director and writers of the underrated Clockwatchers present an honest look at our unending quest for happiness in this ensemble drama that intersects the stories of several New Yorkers who find their lives altered by often ironic twists of fate. The fine cast includes Matthew McConaughey, John Turturro, Clea DuVall, Amy Irving, and Alan Arkin. "The movie is brilliant, really. It is philosophy, illustrated through everyday events" (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times). Jill Sprecher---USA---2002---104 mins.

This is an intelligent film. Well written and directed, it has a cast of really fine character actors who are at the top of their game. The movie wonders "What do we want. What makes us who we are?" This is a film made to be discussed afterwards over a cuppa java or tea. You must see this movie. Rv

We may be renting this one a second time. It is one of those movies that you can see over and over and get more from it each time. It's reminiscent of Catch 22 since it ignores the universality of time - and stars Alan Arkin as one of the main characters.
