Synopsis

Through interviews, news footage, and archival audio and video, O.J.: Made in America traces the life and career of O. J. Simpson, starting with his arrival at the University of Southern California as an emerging football superstar and ending with his incarceration in 2007 for robbery. Throughout the documentary, Simpson's life – the football success, television career, relationship with Nicole Brown, the domestic abuse, Nicole and Ron Goldman's murder, the trial – runs parallel to the larger narrative of the city of Los Angeles, which serves as host to mounting racial tensions and a volatile relationship between the city's police department and the African American community. Originally released as a five-part miniseries and produced by ESPN Films, Made in America won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 89th Academy Awards.

After all the hype I was disappointed. Snail's pace gets to be a drag . Didn't clear up anything as far as I'm concerned, but to be fair maybe O.J.'s saga is so murky that we will never know if he was guilty of murdering his wife. I doubt that many minds will change after viewing this documentary. About the only thing I learned was that O.J.'s father was supposed to be gay. Mercifully the producers didn't go down the road of psychological analysis. Having to sit through a rerun of the Bronco "chase" was bad enough.
