Synopsis

Somewhere between art house and grindhouse, you'll find Drive, a super cool heist movie starring Ryan Gosling as a nameless L.A. stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver. Though he's deadly serious behind the wheel, he's also childlike, soft-spoken, and increasingly fond of Irene (Carey Mulligan), the single mom who lives down the hall. When her husband (Oscar Isaac) returns from prison and botches a robbery for the mob, this makes Irene and her son targets. The money lands in the driver's lap, but he doesn't want it; he just wants to keep Irene safe, and he'll go to excessively violent lengths to do so. With Bryan Cranston as Gosling's handler, Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman as nasty, nebbishy gangsters, and Christina Hendricks. The script is terse and the plot conventional, but the cinematography, wardrobe, dream-pop score, stunt driving, and gory special effects make for one helluva stylish ride. Danish-born director Nicolas Winding Refn (Bronson), who was handpicked by Gosling, won Best Director at Cannes. Have fun picking out all the film references.

One of the most if not the most annoying soundtrack. Luckily I'm not just rating movies for music alone. Acting, action, storyline even the color scheme was enough to reel me in. I am not a big fan of now-or-day movies but this is a movie that give me a change of thought. I you are into main stream or independent you will love this film.
