Synopsis

Take the worst acting found on daytime soaps, remove the production values, add a dash of softcore, and "Hi doggy!" you've got The Room. Written, directed by and starring the Balkan castaway Tommy Wiseau, this committable melodrama about love and betrayal has inspired a healthy cult following and helped to further inflate Wiseau's ego. "...makes Vincent Gallo's The Brown Bunny seem the apotheosis of cinematic self-restraint" (Variety). Co-starring Juliette Danielle, who has gone on to appear such films as...

Tommy Wiseau---USA---2003---99 mins.

This is such a wonderfully cheesy cult film. Tommy Wiseau clearly has no clue how to write or direct or act, but he does it with such sincerity that you can't help loving this piece of schock. The acting is wooden, the writing is horrible and filled with non-sequitors--football in tuxedos? Why? Not even Wiseau knows...but hey, have you ever played football in a tuxedo? It's fun! A character announces she "definitely has breast cancer," and it's never mentioned again. Even with the misogynistic message (women are manipulative), it's all about loving each other. "Oh, hi, Denny!"
