Recounts duel of icily rational Robespierre and impulsive hothead Danton, a duel that ironically ended for both on the guillotine. Gerard Depardieu literally shouts himseof horse. Only native speakers of French could follow his machine-gun delivery. Fascinating, but it helps to have some knowledge of French history. I'll leave it to others to speculate on the relevance of the film to contemporary Polish politics. Nice sets, but irritating background music.
