Synopsis

The third of Antonioni's great trilogy, with Monica Vitti as the alienated woman among the upper bourgeoisie. A brilliant film, with its stupefying climax of silence, comprised of 58 shots lasting 7 minutes. "Breathtaking visual beauty" (Jonas Mekas, Village Voice). In Italian with English Michelangelo Antonioni---Italy---1966---123 mins.

`I found this very boring overall, and quite tiresome in part (the stock market scenes, esp.). The protagonist had primarily just one expression, quite blase, and had little apparent character until toward the end. I didn't bother to use the second disk with Criterion commentary. There were some fairly interesting photographic shots.
